Welcome.
How did I get here?
Suburbs, piano and guitar during Jr. Hi and High School. Taught by Houston Guitar Legend Ron Hudson in the classical, flamenco, and folk styles. Got deservedly fired from a rock band in college. Picked up mandolin and fiddle while in the Philippines in the US Navy. Wisely stopped playing fiddle. Returned to classical guitar when the kids were in school, got into jazz guitar and songwriting toward the end of career #1. Retired at 62 in 2014 to pursue music professionally. Will celebrate 48 years with Mrs. Skinner on May 11, 2023.
